Summer coming to an end
Well it's that time of year again, where the summer seams to of just flowen by!
All the summer events are coming to an end, with last Wednesday being the last Candle Nights in Bournemouth Lower Gardens.
This is a great tridation that has been running since 1896, when Princess Eugiene of France visited the town and her route through the gardens was lit by candlelight.
1000's of coloured candles are lit throughout the Lower Gardens. the diplays represent anything from ships and boats to birds and flowers. These enchanting displays twinkle away in the evening light providing a very magical feel to the gardens. In addition to the lighting of candles, there is children's workshops and storytelling.
Then on Fridays we have the Friday Family Fiesta. This popular event takes place in Bournemouth Lower Gardens throughout the summer. From 7pm there is a host of family entertaiment throughout the gardens including face painters, circus workshops, stilt walkers, fire performances and street performers. And finally at 10pm there is a fantasic fireworks display from Bournemouth Pier!
Plus there is live music and entertaiment at Pier Approach.
The last event of the summer is the Bournemouth Air Festival. This event gets bigger each year. The Air show goes on for 4 days and last year 500,000 people arrived in Bournemouth on the Saturday for the Air Show (well we had have great weather!).
The line-up is really ambitious, it's got festival favourites, force and civilian teams, fast jets, loud aircraft, display teams and a sprinkle of dusk pyrotecnics, thats not forgetting everything thats happening on the ground, at sea and in the evening.
I won't boar you with a list of whats going on so take a look at the programme of what goes on below:
Below are some photos from last years Air Show
We are so looking forward to the Air Festival, and it's exciting watching everything being put up and seeing how the beach front is changing, but its also sad as it also means its the end of the summer!
My next post will be all about the Air Show and photos from our time at the show.
We hope you have a great weekend, we know we will.
